A Month in the Life... September 2014

September is historically a busy month in our world... back to school, the launch of yearly reporting and planning at my work, and a general wrap-up of all things summer as we begin the season of autumn. This year we weren't treated to much of a summer, so it was hard to say goodbye... but we certainly kicked off the fall with a myriad of events and activities to keep us too busy to notice that the warm weather had departed...

For us, autumn means winery season... the Niagara Wine Festival is a favourite stop of ours, and this year didn't disappoint! We enjoyed tours with our wonderful friends David and Nancy, amazing food, and the best the wineries of Southwestern Ontario had to offer.

Heaven is an almost ripe grape, glistening on the vine, ready to be transformed into a favourite wine...

Our daughter's school was back in session, and the annual Back-to-School Barbecue held special meaning this year, as it's the school's 100th anniversary. The celebration was made all the more special by the music and dance performances by Eagle Flight, including the one shown above...

What's that I see? A sure sign that our warm summer weather (what little of it we enjoyed) is over for another year... the leaves are turning, and a crunchy carpet has joined the sidewalk winding through our neighbourhood.
