Photo of the Day July 2nd

Our garden is full of mysteries... we had a planter pot full of herbs a couple of years ago that died off due to a lack of attention (seriously, I told you I have a "black thumb") and suddenly it's begun to grow plants again. I know they're not herbs but are likely the result of some industrious squirrel burying a seed or nut to dig up later... but I have no idea what this pretty green thing is. Anyone have a suggestion for me?

  1. Think it might be Common Tansy. IF so, it bears a cluster of rich yellow flowers. It does get large so you might want to increase pot size. Check out at Google Images. Good luck.

  2. Thanks Patti! The leaves certainly have the same shape... I guess I'll need to wait to see if the yellow flowers appear to confirm. I understand it's quite a natural insecticide, so I'll be happy if that turns out to be what it is - any plant that drives away mosquitoes is a friend of mine!
