A large portion of our day today seemed to revolve around food in one form or another... after making breakfast this morning we went to the Western Fair Farmers Market to buy fresh produce (and a side of ribs) from some local farms and suppliers, then spent much of the afternoon working on dinner. Chris baked a truly lovely home-made beer batter cheese bread with fresh chives from our garden, and I made a tasty lentil and barley soup with spinach, and a side salad. A great, healthy meal full of flavour, which we were able to share together before Chris had to head off to work for the night. An added bonus: there's lots of leftover bread and soup, so I know I have a nice lunch to look forward to tomorrow!
