Last year Ridout Street (which runs directly in front of our house) was torn up to install new water and sewer pipes under the road, and while the construction was underway the side of our yard was also torn up to replace the water pipes leading into the house. Add to that all the shrubs that were pulled up last year and the damage done by people walking across our lawn to get around the construction - you can imagine how bad the yard has looked this year. Good news though - we finally have sod laid down over the sea of what was mud next to the house! With careful watering it should cover up much of the damage done...
