As expected, we kept Sophie home from school again and spent most of the day in relaxation mode. It was a bit different than yesterday though since her energy and appetite have both clearly bounced back - it's a good sign for things to come. This evening Tecumseh P.S. held it's annual Meet-the-Teacher Barbecue and with Sophie clearly on the rebound we went down to the school to enjoy it. I spent much of my time at a booth trying to drum up volunteers for the school newsletter and selling reusable water bottles, but we also managed to fit chatting with other parents and touring Sophie's classroom into the evening. Sophie's teacher is the wonderful Ms. Orr, shown here during our classroom visit... she's everything you would wish for in your child's first teacher: kind, dedicated, approachable, and a strong leader for her room full of young minds. We couldn't be more thrilled with the way Sophie's school career has begun!
