We enjoyed a much-anticipated visit with my Grandfather (and Sophie's Great Grandfather) last night... she has held a very special place in his heart since her birth, which he made the journey to London to be a part of. She's crazy for him too, so the mutual admiration society is a lot of fun to watch. Last night they were hanging out by the fire with Grandpa sneaking up on her ears to say "Bwah hah hah hah" unexpectedly - a trick that he used to pull on me, which I simultaneously loved and dreaded as a young child. Nothing makes you go weak in the knees and shivery up the spine like my Grandpa's sneaky laugh, I tell you! He's not even doing it in this picture, but the very thought of it clearly has Sophie crazy with anticipation...

Sophie is so lucky to have so many people in her life who love her and whom she loves. I grew up with no relatives other than my immediate family until I was 15. I met an aunt and 15 years later met another aunt. Yeah, to Summer and Chris for making sure Sophie has moments like the one above to cherish.
ReplyDeleteWe're all very lucky, that's for sure - my entire extended family is so important to me, and I can see the positive effect of family (both Chris's and mine) on Sophie too... I can't imagine my life without them, that's for sure!
