Sophie's hands clasped with her Great-Grandmas

We hopped in the car after breakfast this morning to go visit my Grandmother at the nursing home in Wallaceburg, a visit that we always try to make around the holiday season. It's been over a month since we've been down (too long for sure) and it was very nice to see her again. She's one of the strongest women I've ever met, and her determination to do things for herself despite dealing with the physical effects of having a stroke is incredibly impressive. Whenever we're visiting she likes to have Sophie sit on her lap while I push her wheelchair so we can take a walking tour around the home to see all the birds and fish in their cages and tanks. Grandma's nursing home is one of the nicest I've seen, with lots of bright, open meeting spaces, comfortable living-room style areas throughout, several cozy corners to read in, and privacy for the residents in their rooms when they want it. Sophie always looks forward to "riding with Grandma", and got a kick out of showing her all the Polly Pocket dolls and their mix-and-match outfits she brought. It was over too soon, but we're looking forward to planning our next visit down early in the new year when I'm sure Sophie will regale Grandma with stories of Santa Claus, stockings, and the overall magic of Christmas.

This is a very cool shot. It is terrific that you are continuing to introduce Sophie to her great grandmother. She loves children, especially curious, well behaved children. And that's Sophie 100%. Add beautiful and funny to the mix and you got a winner. Yeah, Summer. Yeah, Sophie. Yeah Grandma Jones.
